FreemiumFast, clean workout logger with a generous free tier, a social feed of 15 million lifters, and an optional adaptive Trainer on Pro.
What is Hevy?
Hevy has become the default gym logger for a large chunk of the lifting internet by doing one thing extremely well: getting sets into the app with as few taps as possible. The free tier gives you unlimited workout logging, a full exercise library with high quality demonstration videos, progress charts, and the social feed where you follow other athletes, save their routines, and leave comments on their sessions. Free is capped at a handful of routines, a limited number of custom exercises, and a rolling window of graph history, which is where Pro comes in. Pro removes those caps, unlocks all-time history, adds the warm-up calculator, and includes Hevy Trainer, an algorithmic layer launched in early 2026 that generates programs and auto-adjusts your working weights session to session. There is also a public API, an Apple Watch and WearOS app, and a full web version. It records what you lift beautifully. It does not read recovery data.

How to Use Hevy
✅ Best For
- Lifters who already know their program and want the fastest, least fiddly place to record it
- People motivated by social accountability who want friends seeing and reacting to their logged sessions
- Budget-conscious trainees, since the free tier covers unlimited logging with no trial deadline attached
- Apple Watch and WearOS users who want to leave the phone in the locker and log entirely from the wrist
- Developers and data enthusiasts who want programmatic access to their training history through the public API
❌ Not For
- Anyone who wants sessions generated from recovery data, since Hevy Trainer works from logged performance rather than sleep or HRV
- Runners and endurance athletes, as the app is built almost entirely around resistance training
- Free tier users running a long-term split, who will hit the routine cap and the limited history window quickly
- People wanting a conversational AI coach that explains programming decisions in plain language
- Lifters who need nutrition or macro tracking bundled into the same subscription
