What is Poe?

Poe, built by Quora, is a multi-model aggregator: one app and one subscription covering frontier chat models from several providers plus image, video and audio generators and tens of thousands of user-built bots. You can query several models in the same thread to compare answers, and creators earn real money from bots that get used. It runs on web, Windows, Mac, iOS and Android with a six-step pricing ladder from about $5 to $250. Everything meters through compute points, spent at different rates per model, and the free allowance was reduced sharply during 2026 to roughly a few hundred points a day. Two structural trade-offs: you get the model but not the surrounding product, so features like Projects, Artifacts, custom GPTs and voice modes stay on the native platforms; and memory is session-based, with no persistent knowledge base across chats.
