Airtable looks like a spreadsheet and behaves like a relational database, which is why non-technical teams adopt it to run operations that would otherwise sprawl across disconnected sheets. Linked records, views, Interfaces for stakeholder-facing dashboards, automations and AI fields let one team build a CRM, a content calendar and an inventory tracker on the same data model without writing SQL. Two commercial points. Billing is per editor, so anyone who modifies a record is a paid seat while read-only viewers are free on every plan, with published tiers running from free through roughly $20 Team and $45 Business to custom Enterprise. Add-ons including Portals and AI credit packs sit outside those figures. More significantly, Airtable agreed in August 2026 to be acquired by Bending Spoons for $1.285 billion, so budget for the possibility of pricing changes rather than assuming current rates hold.

- Polished client-facing portals, since Interfaces and the Portals add-on are functional but limited compared to a real frontend tool
